Sunday Services

Our morning service is held at 9:45 am, and our evening service at 6:00 pm.

Generally, our services are characterised by corporate singing, confession and intercession, and a careful exposition of God’s Word.

After each service we enjoy continued fellowship over morning tea or supper. There is usually an opportunity to ask questions during the evening sermon, and we encourage feedback and questions during morning tea or supper after the service.

Visitors are always welcome.

But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way – 1 Corinthians 14:40 (NIV)

Morning Service (9:45 am)

Our morning service is our main service. You can be assured of a bible-based, expository sermon, together with corporate prayer and the reading of Scripture. We sing a balance of theologically-sound traditional hymns and contemporary songs, led by a music team.

The service caters to a wide age range, from newborn through to, well let’s just say several decades past newborn! We encourage children to remain with their parents during the service as we believe this to be a biblical pattern; we do not operate a separate Sunday School or “Kid’s Church”. We don’t mind noise during the service, however a comfortable “cry room” attached to the church building is available if small children need to be taken out. It has an audio link so you can continue to hear what is being said. There is also a live audio and video stream of the service in the church hall.

The sermon goes for 35-45 minutes and is deliberately expositional, usually verse-by-verse so that we uncover the whole counsel of God. The aim of our preaching is to proclaim Christ by making the meaning of God’s Word clear, revealing its grand doctrines and applying it to all ages. We encourage listeners to take notes during the sermon to promote deeper reflection after the service and during the week. Audio recordings of the sermons are available from this website for download, or via podcast (search for “Albion Park Presbyterian Church”). There are also sermon videos available on our YouTube channel.

The whole service lasts for around 90 minutes. After the service, all are welcome to come down to the hall for morning tea. It is an opportunity to catch up with friends and to encourage each other as we reflect on the sermon. We normally hold a church lunch in the hall on the last Sunday of the month.

An offertory box is located in the entrance of the church, but visitors are not obliged to contribute.

The Lord’s Supper is held on the first Sunday of each month.

The morning service is also shown as a live stream on YouTube.

Evening Service (6:00 pm)

Our evening service is less formal and more interactive, with a time of group prayer and an opportunity to ask questions during the sermon.

After the service we have supper in the church building which is a good time for a last catch up before beginning the week.

Why don’t you consider coming along to this service if you have a longing to be fed with the truth of God’s Word, or if you have questions for which you would like answers?
